Saving a new version of the project (Incremental Save)

To keep older work states of your project, you normally use the Save As function. You save your current project under a new project file name (e.g. <project name>_001) and continue to work with this project. The old work state remains available in the original project.

The File menu | Incremental Save command automates this process so that you do not have to set a name for the new file version each time. Save your project once under the desired project name (e.g. "myproject..veg"). If you now call the Incremental Save function, the current project is saved under the name myproject_0001, next time as myproject_0002 and so on. The appended number is incremented, so this function is also called Incremental Save.

TIP The default keyboard shortcut for Incremental Save is Ctrl+ Alt + S. There is also a toolbar button available, but it is not visible by default. You can add it by customizing your toolbar.
