The ProType Titler Toolbar

The toolbar is displayed at the top of the workspace and allows you to add, navigate, and toggle aspect-ratio lock for text objects.

Button Description

Add New Text Block

Click this button (or double-click the workspace) to add a new text block.

Edit Text

Click this button to edit the text in the selected text block.

Navigate to Parent

Selects the parent object of whatever you have selected in the workspace.

For example, if you have a single letter selected in a text block, clicking this button would select the word that contains the selected letter. Clicking again would select the line of text that contains the selected word (if your text block contains multiple lines of text). Clicking again would select the text block.

Navigate to Child

Selects the next-smallest object from whatever you have selected in the workspace.

For example, if you have a text block selected, clicking this button would select the first line of text. Clicking again would select the first word in the first line of text. Clicking again would select the first letter of the first word.

Navigate to Previous Peer

Moves the selection to the previous item of the same type,

For example, if you have a word selected, clicking this button would move the selection to the previous word. If you had a line of text selected, clicking this button would move the selection to the previous word.

Navigate to Next Peer

Moves the selection to the next item of the same type,

For example, if you have a word selected, clicking this button would move the selection to the next word. If you had a line of text selected, clicking this button would move the selection to the next word.

Lock Aspect

Click to lock the aspect of text blocks in the workspace. When the button is selected (), adjusting the width or height of a text block maintains the proportions of the text block.  Hold Shift while dragging the edge of a text block to resize it and change its width and height independently.

When the button is not selected (), you can adjust the width or height of a text block independently. Hold Shift to adjust height and width proportionally.
