Enable Hardware Decoding for supported formats

This checkbox switches hardware decoding of AVC/HEVC media on and off, where applicable. Select the Hardware Decoder (NVIDIA NVDEC or Intel QSV) to use in the list box below. Hardware decoding works only, when the right hardware is available and the media is suitable for hardware decoding.

Enable MKV Reader (experimental)

Activates the new, experimental file reader for the .mkv Matroska video format, a free and open source video format. For more information, see mastroska.org.

RAW Processor Specify the device you want to use for RAW processing. This delinks the RAW processing accelerator from the video processing accelerator and enables you to specify the best option for both of them. This is especially useful to you if you have multiple GPUs in your system because you can spread the processing work between two of them. This gives you higher overall GPU utilization and access to more processing power.

Log Plugin loading/Reads/Renders

In case you have technical problems with your VEGAS Pro project you can get a log file when checking these options. Even if you don't understand each and every entry of the log file it can help you to identify problematic media files or plug-ins in your project. It is possible to log the loading process of plug-ins and media files and the render process. To activate logging, switch the according list box from Off to Basic, or for a more detailed logging to Detailed. The Log files can also be helpful for the technical support to identify problems.

You find the Log files in c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\.0\, they are normal text files with the file extension .log
